As the section manager for the occupational health and safety department, you will have overall responsibility for leading a team of 7 people, tasked with driving and developing Boliden Zinkgruvan's safety, health, and work environment efforts. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and following up on the department's areas of responsibility and overall work to strengthen Zinkgruvan's safety culture, identify and minimize risks, and ensure that knowledge, routines, and processes are implemented in operations within safety, health, and work environment.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and distributing work in the department with personnel responsibility for your employees
  • Plan, implement, lead, and follow up on initiatives within occupational health and safety.
  • Ensure both short- and long-term planning within the work environment area.
  • Lead or participate in investigations of more serious incidents and accidents.
  • Be the contact person for internal and external stakeholders in occupational health and safety, including authorities.
  • Develop working methods and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with new laws, regulations, and other requirements within occupational health and safety.
  • Monitor developments in the field of occupational health and safety.
  • Design and maintain action plans for emergencies.
  • Be responsible for safety committees and promote a culture of safety and inclusion.
  • Follow up and ensure systematic work environment efforts in the operations
  • Responsible for educating and developing managers and employees in safety culture, work environment, and health
  • Participate in group-wide collaborations and network meetings within safety, health, and work environment

Formal qualifications:

  • Academic degree in health, safety, work environment, or equivalent experience acquired through professional life
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in work related to safety and health
  • Previous leadership experience from larger facility projects, manufacturing and/or process industry
  • Meritorious with previous experience in systematic work environment, safety, and health work within the mining industry or other process industry
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Experience in change management and strategic work
  • Fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office
